Amir Khan has sought the forgiveness of Nigerian-born British world boxing heavyweight champions, Anthony Joshua, over an alleged affair with his wife, Faryal.
Joshua was falsely accused by Khan of sleeping with Faryal, after an apparently photoshopped picture of them was sent to the former welterweight champion.
However, on Friday, Faryal sought to clear the air with a long Twitter post which explained how Khan was misled.
“I’ve been quiet for some time because myself I didn’t know what’s going on.
“Everything that’s going on is not just right and a complete misunderstanding.
“The screenshots sent to Amir were fake and Amir thought Joshua and I were speaking…when we have never even met.
“Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without even thinking there was absolutely no truth to it.
“It’s all cleared up with both teams now and again, there was NOTHING like that going on.
“Apologies for all this nonsense. Let’s get on with life now,” she wrote.
Khan replied to the post accepting he was wrong, but not really apologising to Joshua.
He tweeted: “@anthonyfjoshua glad all is cleared up and all lies. I got angry like any man would. No truth to it. Good to know. All the best.”
Joshua replied Khan: “Apology accepted.”
